Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 10+ years in construction as a representative or inspector.
• Proficient with project management information systems (e.g., e-Builder, Buzzsaw).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Observe and inspect ongoing construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Oversee construction record-keeping and recommend payments to contractors; review change orders and prepare daily reports.
• Prepare for and assist with preconstruction meetings, progress checks, and conflict resolution.
• Provide information to project/construction managers on change orders, extra work, and supplemental agreements.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and team members.
• Read plans and specifications to ensure work aligns with design.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Freese and Nichols is seeking a Transportation Construction Representative to join our Central Plains Construction team in Oklahoma City.

The work site location will be in Durant, OK.

Major Accountabilities

• Observe and inspect ongoing construction work to ensure construction is in accordance with plans and specifications.
• Oversee the construction record keeping activities by recommending payments to contractors, review proposed change orders submitted by consultants and preparing daily reports.
• Prepare for and assist with preconstruction meetings, progress checks, and conflict resolution.
• Provide information to project manager/construction manager to the need for change orders, extra work and/or supplemental agreements.
• Communicate with client, contractors, and other employees.
• Read plan and specifications to be able to ensure construction is in accordance with plans and specifications.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 10+ years relevant experience in the construction field serving as a construction representative or inspector
• Fully proficient using project management information system (Example e-Builder, Buzzsaw, FNI Manager, Site Manager, etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates degree in related field CCM
• Preferred DOT technical certifications
• ACI I
• APWA certification Level I
• NICET
• Other applicable
