Job summary

Freese and Nichols in Oklahoma City is seeking a Construction Representative to join our Central Plains Construction team. You will lead inspection and documentation of construction activities and provide technical guidance to junior representatives to ensure work meets quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities include inspecting ongoing work, overseeing project records and payments, preparing for preconstruction meetings, and coordinating with the project manager to address change

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years relevant experience in construction as a construction representative or inspector.
• Fully proficient using project management information systems (e.g., e-Builder, Buzzsaw, FNI Manager, Site Manager).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Observe and inspect ongoing construction work to ensure it aligns with plans and specifications.
• Oversee construction record keeping and review changes to payments with contractors and prepare daily reports.
• Prepare for and assist with preconstruction meetings, progress checks, and conflict resolution.
• Provide information to project manager/construction manager regarding change orders and extra work needs.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and other team members.
• Read plans to ensure conformance with specifications.

Job description

Freese and Nichols is seeking a Construction Representative to join our Central Plains Construction team in Oklahoma City. As a Construction Representative you will lead the inspection and documentation of construction activities, provide technical support and guidance to junior construction representatives while ensuring that all construction work meets quality and safety standards.

Major Accountabilities

• Observe and inspect ongoing construction work to ensure construction is in accordance with plans and specifications
• Oversee the construction record keeping activities by recommending payments to contractors, review proposed change orders submitted by consultants and preparing daily reports
• Prepare for and assist with preconstruction meetings, progress checks, and conflict resolution
• Provide information to project manager/construction manager to the need for change orders, extra work and/or supplemental agreements
• Communicate with client, contractors, and other employees
• Read plan and specifications to be able to ensure construction is in accordance with plans and specifications

Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant experience in the construction field serving as a construction representative or inspector
