ATCS, Inc. is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors (All levels) to join our Construction Services team in Harrisburg, PA and surrounding areas.

We welcome candidates with varying levels of experience, including Trainees, Inspectors, and Senior Inspectors, with responsibilities spanning field inspections, report writing, and compliance verification on highway, bridge, environmental, traffic and facilities projects.

Qualifications

• Recent graduates with Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management or related degrees will be considered.
• 2+ years' experience in construction, civil engineering, project management, or materials inspection.
• Knowledge of PennDOT Road & Bridges specifications and standards.
• Skill in reading and interpreting contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Perform transportation construction inspections on Highway, Bridges, Environmental, Traffic, and Facilities projects.
• Write daily progress reports and document materials, labor, safety, and work orders.
• Oversee contractor work to ensure compliance with contract documents and safe practices.
• Perform field tests on materials (concrete slump/air, soil compaction, HMA).
• Report on-site activities to Project Engineer and determine pay quantities.

Transportation Construction Inspectors (All levels - Trainees, Inspectors, Senior)

ATCS's Construction Services group is expanding our cadre in Pennsylvania! We are looking for individuals with PA construction management and inspection experience.

We're open to candidates with varying levels of experience - Inspectors, Trainees, Senior Inspectors to join our team in Harrisburg, PA and surrounding areas!

Duties:

• Perform transportation construction inspections on Highway, Bridges, Environmental, Traffic, and Facilities type projects
• Write daily progress reports
• Oversight of contractor work crews to ensure compliance with contract documents, reading and interpretation of contract documents to verify that safe construction practices are being utilized to produce quality results
• Perform field test on materials (concrete slump/air, soil compaction, and HMA)
• Complete documentation of materials, labor compliance, safety, processing estimates, work orders, and adjustments
• Report on-site activities and daily progress to the Project Engineer via standardized reporting, responsible for calculation and determination of pay quantities

Basic Qualifications:

• Recent graduates with Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management or other related degrees will be considered. 4+ years of heavy highway experience or 2+ years of transportation construction inspection experience will also be considered.
• 2+ years' experience in construction, civil engineering, project management, or materials inspection
• Knowledgeable in PennDOT Road & Bridges specifications and standards
• Knowledge of mathematics to include algebra, geometry and trigonometry
• Skill in the use of field engineering and testing equipment, inspection methods and materials
• Possession of or ability to obtain required certifications within 12 months of employment and maintain
  • PennDOT Concrete Technician Certification
  • NICET Level 2-4 in Transportation & Highway Construction
  • OSHA 10 Hour Safety
  • PennDOT NECEPT
  • ACI Concrete Field – Testing Technician
  • PennDOT Flagger Training or equivalent
• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Proficient in Site Manager, or other project management software

Our employees are the most critical part of ATCS. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $21.43 to $36.82 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus, with a target 2% of the employee's annualized salary.
