Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. in Indiana seeks an experienced Construction Inspector to perform field observation and inspection on transportation projects.

You will report to the Project Supervisor or Resident Project Representative and document progress through daily and status reports. The role requires knowledge of transportation construction, INDOT/DPW standards, reading plans, measuring quantities, material testing, and effective communication with clients, contractors, and the public.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of transportation construction and quality control practices.
• Familiar with INDOT/DPW specs and inspection requirements.
• Read and interpret construction plans and drawings.
• Inspect contractor work and document progress and quality.
• Ability to measure quantities and perform material testing.
• INDOT certified technician.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications for field observations on construction sites.
• Conduct tests in field or lab to obtain data for materials properties.
• Collect samples and prepare reports of testing results.
• Document field activities, observations, and testing results.
• Communicate testing results with staff, contractors, and clients.
• Lead tasks and assist in project management as needed.
