CDR Maguire Inc. Transportation Construction Inspector

CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm, is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors for projects in PennDOT District 6 for the upcoming 2025 construction season.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Ensure compliance with the contract documents by the contractor.
2. Consult with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others regarding plans, specifications, materials, equipment, methods, practices, and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work.
3. Prepare daily progress reports and maintain progress schedules.
4. Check shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variations.
5. Maintain records of quantities and costs of materials used.
6. Prepare contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommend payments.

OTHER PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

1. Travel as required related to duties or as directed by supervisor.
2. Maintain a positive attitude to foster competence and pride in the company.
3. Perform other duties as required, commensurate with the position.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Effective reading, writing, and communication skills in English, along with basic math skills for length, area, and volume calculations.
• Minimum of one (1) year PennDOT experience or two (2) years of transportation, highway, or bridge construction inspection experience.
• Four (4) years of highway or bridge construction, non-inspection, or design experience; or successful completion of twelve (12) web-based TCI training modules as a substitute.
• A Civil Engineering or Construction degree may substitute for experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a non-Civil Engineering field with successful completion of TCI modules can substitute for experience.

Preferred Certifications:

• NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction.
• NECEPT Bituminous Field Certification.
• ACI/PennDOT Concrete Field Technician Certification.
• PennDOT/PTC CDS Certification.
• ECMS experience.
• OSHA 10-Hour Certification.
