Transportation Construction Inspector

We are seeking Transportation Construction Inspection professionals to join our Central PA Team, primarily working with clients such as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and other local agencies.

The successful candidate will apply standard inspection procedures during and after construction to ensure structural quality, safety, and conformance to plans, specifications, and codes. This position is not eligible for employer sponsorship, except for TN visa classification.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal and safety standards.
2. Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
3. Measure dimensions and verify levels, alignments, and elevations of structures, fixtures, grades, and pavement to ensure compliance with plans and codes.
4. Maintain record documents and make field notes and computations.

Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in computer use.
• Active driver's license and reliable vehicle, with successful completion of JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.

Preferred Skills

• Certifications such as NICET Level 1 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction.
• NECEPT-Bituminous and Concrete Field Technician.
• ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician.
• Experience with CDS NeXtGen and/or ECMS Wave 5.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (or relevant experience).
• 1-4 years of Construction Inspection Experience.

Preferred Experience

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Previous PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike Inspection Experience.
