Transportation Construction Inspector

Construction Management/Inspection - Transportation

Location: Clearfield, PA

We are seeking Transportation Construction Inspection professionals for our Central PA Team, primarily serving the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and local agencies.

The successful candidate will apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing construction activities, ensuring structural quality, safety, and conformance to plans, specifications, and codes. This position is not eligible for employer sponsorship except for TN visa classification.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods for compliance and safety.
2. Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
3. Measure dimensions and verify levels, alignments, and elevations of structures and pavements.
4. Maintain record documents and make field notes and computations.

Nonessential Functions

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• Computer proficiency.
• Active driver’s license (must pass JMT’s Motor Vehicle screening).

Preferred Skills

• Certifications such as NICET Level 1 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction.
• NECEPT-Bituminous and Concrete Field Technician.
• ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician.
• CDS NeXtGen and/or ECMS Wave 5.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (experience may substitute).
• 1-4 years of Construction Inspection Experience.

Preferred Experience

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Previous PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike Inspection Experience.

Working Conditions
