Job summary

North American Risk Services Inc. seeks a Transportation Claims Unit Manager for Personal Lines – Bodily Injury. Location is Work-From-Home with leadership of a 5-8 person team and oversight of complex auto/trucking claims in a remote setting.

The role requires 7+ years in claims and litigation, supervisory experience, and active adjuster licensing with licensing readiness for Florida or other jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; 2-year degree or higher preferred.
• 7+ years of overall claims and litigation experience, preferably in commercial auto/trucking with PD/BI exposure.
• 2+ years supervisory experience or related leadership in claims.
• Claims designation (AIC, ARM, CPCU, SCLA or similar) preferred.
• Active Adjuster’s License with ability to obtain Florida license or other jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 5-8 claims personnel and their caseloads.
• Oversee unit claim metrics and keep them current.
• Supervise file handling for pending claims, including facts of loss, coverage, investigation, negligence, liability, damage, and medical coordination.
• Approve and monitor litigation management, settlements, and use of vendors.
• Set and approve reserves as needed.
• Attend conferences and client meetings; travel as required.
• Mentor and train adjusters; ensure compliance with statutes and client guidelines.
• Support management with additional duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage a team of 5-8 claims personnel and their respective caseloads.
• Manage the unit’s claim metrics and ensure they are kept current.
• Oversee all aspects of file handling on pending claims which will include facts of loss, coverage analysis, investigation, negligence/compensability/liability determinations, damage assessment, and coordination of medical care as appropriate.
• Approve and monitor litigation management, settlement negotiations, and appropriate use of vendor table.
• Establish and approve reserves as needed.
• Attend conferences and client meetings, which may include travel.
• Mentor and train adjusters as needed.
• Ensure files assigned to the unit are handled within state statutes, clients’ guidelines and company’s best practices.
• Assist management with other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

What You Bring:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required, 2-year degree or higher preferred.
• 7 + years of overall claims and litigation experience, preferably in commercial auto/trucking claims with a mixture of PD and BI experience.
• 2+ years claims supervisory experience or similar/related experience in the appropriate field is preferred.
• Claims designation (AIC, ARM, CPCU, SCLA or other industry-related) preferred.
• An active Adjuster’s License.
• The willingness and ability to obtain a Florida Adjuster’s License or other required jurisdictional licensing.
