Job summary

LJA Engineering, Inc. Transportation internship offers hands-on engineering experience with a focus on civil infrastructure. You will work under experienced engineers, shadow operations, and contribute to real projects in a collaborative, in-person Summer program.

Expect mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities across disciplines. This paid internship runs mid-May through early August, with a strong emphasis on growth, teamwork, and practical learning.

Qualifications

• Completed at least one year of college pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Strong work ethic and motivation for engineering internship experience.
• Good organizational and written/spoken communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to identify discrepancies.
• Ability to collaborate and work well in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering assignments with direction from experienced engineers.
• Shadow operations and learn about project phases.
• Contribute to smaller assignments supporting larger projects.
• Engage in culture and social activities and team engagements.
