Charleston County Public Works is seeking engineers to join the Capital Projects division. You will oversee transportation infrastructure from design through construction, with early ownership of projects and a strong work-life balance.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with 1–3+ years of relevant experience; certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) with the ability to become a Professional Engineer (PE) or PMP is preferred. A stable pension is provided.

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
• 1–3+ years of progressive experience in engineering, construction, project management, or equivalent.

Responsabilidades

• Manage transportation projects from inception through completion including budgets and invoices.
• Evaluate consultant qualifications and proposals for design and pre-construction services; negotiate fees and changes.
• Review plan submittals to meet applicable standards and project goals.
• Coordinate utility relocations with utility staff.
• Coordinate permit applications with environmental and regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate acquisition of rights-of-way and easements as needed.
• Prepare IFB documents and manage construction inspections; review change orders and invoices.
• Provide excellent customer service and keep stakeholders informed.
