Job summary

City of Pasadena, CA is seeking a Management Analyst III (Transportation Analyst) to provide high-level financial and administrative support to the Administration Division. The role reports to Management Analyst V and focuses on expense/revenue forecasting, grant support, budget monitoring, and CIP management.

The ideal candidate combines analytical skill with strong communication and knowledge of transportation funding sources, ideally in public sector budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, finance, or a closely related field.
• Three years of full-time progressively responsible analytical or administrative experience, one year at the journey level.
• Municipal/government budget or finance experience is highly desired.
• Knowledge of procurement practices and procedures preferred.
• Familiarity with Tyler Munis or other financial management systems.
• Contract and budget preparation and administration.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the department's annual operating budget and Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
• Monitor budget; forecast revenue and expenditures; manage funds.
• Assist with grant management and track status of active grants.
• Analyze programs, organizational structure, operations, and control systems.
• Research contracts, negotiate terms, monitor compliance.
• Represent the City in interdepartmental and professional meetings.
