Pay or shift range: $90,000 USD to $105,000 USD. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job‑related reasons.
Transportation Brokerage Sales Manager is responsible for new business development and an aggressive growth plan of a non‑asset, transportation brokerage business, with a primary goal of building sales by prospecting for new clients through both outside and inside sales processes. Works in coordination with other company business units and clients, and is accountable for the financial and growth performance of the brokerage.
Your role on the team:
Provide daily management and mentoring of the brokerage operations department.
Gain opportunities for brokerage team members to work on meaningful projects and to increase brokerage team knowledge and development of the transportation industry.
Interview and hire team members.
Develop tactical and strategic plans to build a talent pipeline through team‑member development and to meet growth objectives.
Drive consistent performance with a focus on onboarding new customers and retaining existing customers.
Ensure the team is optimally staffed and organized to maximize performance and achieve results.
Manage account relationships as the primary point‑of‑contact for day‑to‑day needs, including communication between sales and operations.
Manage the coordination of customers’ needs, billing, collections, and other activities.
Establish and maintain relationships with key decision makers within customers’ organizations.
Track and maintain operational activity metrics and ensure that weekly/monthly quotas are met.
Understand the evolving and competitive landscape of the 3PL/Brokerage business and align resources to develop creative and strategic solutions.
Understand and support the goals, policies, and procedures of Velocity Transport. Other duties related to the above may be assigned as needed.
