JOB TITLE: TRANSPORTATION ATTENDANT (SHUTTLE DRIVER)USUAL TIME OF WORK SHIFT: Varies with facility needs. Full-time or part time positions, variable hours per week.BREAKS: Two breaks, and one ½-hour lunch, depending on shift.OVERTIME: As necessary.MACHINES USED: 10-15 Passenger Ford Vans, automatic transmission air conditioned. Office machines, tools, and equipment.TOOLS USED: General clerical office tools, cell phone, 2-way radio.ASSISTIVE DEVICES: Wheeled pushcarts.SAFETY CLOTHING/EQUIPMENT: Employee uniforms, consisting of jacket, shirt & pants.SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED: Personable and customer-service oriented. Bilingual a plus.DESCRIPTION OF WORKPLACE/WORKSTATION: The work primarily takes place inside a 9-15 passenger shuttle. The shuttle is air conditioned, equipped with an automatic transmission, and a fully adjustable driver’s seat. Other duties take place in a variety of office locations within an airport, terminal or hotel facility. The surfaces at the office locations are level, and have carpeted, tiled, or wood flooring. All of the work locations are well-lit and temperature controlled. The Shuttle Driver may be exposed for limited periods of time to various weather conditions when walking to and from parking lot to office areas, building to building or other outdoor areas.DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASKS/PURPOSE: The Transportation Attendant/Shuttle Driver performs a variety of transportation services for hotel guests. Primarily, he/she shuttles guests between the hotel and an airport or other locations. The Shuttle Driver greets all guests when they enter the vehicle, and assists disabled guests as necessary. The Shuttle Driver also transports guests to any destination in accordance with hotel policies, rules or procedures. He/She is responsible for the safe operation of the vehicle, and ensures that proper vehicle maintenance is regularly performed. In addition, the Shuttle Driver reports all accidents, injuries, unsafe working conditions, and damage to hotel vehicles and related properties. He/She must have the ability to lift and carry a maximum of 50 lbs.to/from vehicle and related facilities with the use of a wheeled luggage pushcart. The Shuttle Driver is responsible for fueling the vehicle, and the performance of safety inspections. He/She provides passengers with basic information regarding the local area’s recreation possibilities and/or points of interest. Depending on the property, additional responsibilities may include: Front Office Operations, basic facility maintenance and light housekeeping.Major job functions:1. Provides the highest quality of service to the customers at all times.2. Greets customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome.3. Utilizes guest's names in interactions whenever possible.4. Promptly responds to all guest-related concerns including but not limited to complaints and special requests.5. Have a thorough knowledge of emergency and security procedures.6. Know how to clean guestrooms to standards.7. Know how to perform basic routine maintenance as well as how to properly operate all mechanical units within the guestroom or motor vehicle.8. Know how to operate all laundry equipment.9. Keep maintenance personnel informed of all maintenance needs.10. Proper uniform attire must be worn at all times in accordance with The Victus Group and individual hotel's brand standards.11. Personal cleanliness and neat appearance are required. Shoes must be low-heeled and have heels and toes closed.12. Practice safety standards at all times.13. Must be able to move miscellaneous items weighing up to 50 lbs. Must inform property management if unable to meet this requirement so they can determine if a reasonable accommodation can be made.14. May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.15. Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may from time to time be established by The Victus Group is essential to the successful performance of this position.16. Checks guests in and out in an efficient and friendly manner.17. Post vehicle maintenance or related needs with the proper parties.18. Perform other duties deemed necessary by management that are within the Shuttle Driver’s abilities.19. The Shuttle Driver must adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the company including, but not limited to, those contained in the Associate handbook.On a typical day the Driver performs the following duties:1. Clocks in, reviews day’s activities.2. Coordinates priorities with Shift Supervisor.3. Shuttles guests from/to airport, lodging, or other locations, accommodating special guest needs, according to company policies, rules and procedures.4. Performs visual safety inspection of vehicle before and after each trip, keeping in mind inclement weather or other potential hazards.5. Maintains vehicle mechanical log, reporting any mechanical or related needs to proper personnel.6. Ensures vehicles are clean and ready for next shift.7. Performs on-call driving needs, as required.8. Reports any pertinent issues to supervisor before clocking out at end of shift.This employer participates in E-Verify.
