Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Transport patients to appointments locally and across Wyoming, Montana and Western South Dakota.
  • Log patients’ daily actions and behaviors; monitor mental and physical well-being.
  • Assist patients with clarification of the 12-steps program and coping with concerns.
  • Facilitate psycho-educational groups for patients.
  • Chart patient medication usage.
  • Inspect facility for safety and hazard-free conditions.
  • Perform patient transportation and community meetings.
  • Conduct patient drug testing.

Summary/ObjectiveThe Client Transportation Driver transports patients to appointments outside the VOANR facility. When not performing transportation duties, this position performs the duties of Recovery Health Technician in a residential facility that provides treatment for substance use and co-occurring disorders.Essential FunctionsTransport patients to appointments locally and across the states of Wyoming, Montana and Western South DakotaEnsure patients' compliance with program guidelines and log patients' daily actions and behaviorsContinuously monitor patients for mental and physical well-being, including signs of illness or injury, substance use or conflict with other patients and report observationsWorking in concert with the patient's counselor, aid patients with clarification of the 12-steps program, productive use of time, coping with emotional and program concernsFacilitate psycho-educational groups for patientsChart patient medication usageConduct inspection rounds of the facility to observe patient behavior and ensure the facility is clean and hazard freeTransport patients to appointments and meetings in the communityPerform patient drug testingCompetenciesEffective communicator; assertive when necessaryRespectful, empathetic and professional toward patients with addictionCalm under pressure and able to manage crisisConfidential with patient informationOrganized with time management skills to meet tight deadlinesContinuous demonstration of behaviors aligned with a posture of servant leadership and our cultural valuesSupervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibilitiesWork EnvironmentThis job operates in both a transport vehicle and a residential treatment facility environment.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing transportation duties, this position will spend long periods sitting while operating the vehicle. While performing Recovery Health Technician duties, this position must be mobile throughout the facility, as well as work on a computer for periods.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time or part-time status dependent on the position hired for in a 24/7 facility.
