Volunteers of America Northern Rockies is seeking a Client Transportation Driver / Recovery Health Technician to transport patients for appointments and support treatment services at Life House in Sheridan, WY. The role combines transportation duties with on-site recovery health tasks in a residential facility.

Responsibilities include coordinating with counselors, monitoring patient well‑being, logging activities, and delivering psycho-educational groups.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent.
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite and database programs.
• Valid driver's license with no restrictions that would prevent transportation duties.
• No DUI/DWI pending charges or convictions within five years before hire date.
• Previous Human Services training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to appointments locally and across Wyoming, Montana and Western South Dakota.
• Log patients' daily actions and behaviors; ensure program guidelines compliance.
• Monitor patients' mental and physical well-being; report observations.
• Assist patients with clarification of the 12-steps program and coping strategies.
• Facilitate psycho-educational groups for patients; conduct charting of medication usage.
• Perform facility inspection rounds to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Transport patients to community appointments and meetings; perform patient drug testing.

Job Location: Life House - Sheridan, WY 82801 Position Type: Full-time Education Level: HS Equivalent/GED Travel Percentage: Up to 50% Job Shift: Day

The Client Transportation Driver transports patients to appointments outside the VOANR facility. When not performing transportation duties, this position performs the duties of Recovery Health Technician in a residential facility that provides treatment for substance use and co-occurring disorders.

Essential Functions

• Transport patients to appointments locally and across the states of Wyoming, Montana and Western South Dakota
• Ensure patients' compliance with program guidelines and log patients' daily actions and behaviors
• Continuously monitor patients for mental and physical well-being, including signs of illness or injury, substance use or conflict with other patients and report observations
• Working in concert with the patient's counselor, aid patients with clarification of the 12-steps program, productive use of time, coping with emotional and program concerns
• Facilitate psycho-educational groups for patients
• Chart patient medication usage
• Conduct inspection rounds of the facility to observe patient behavior and ensure the facility is clean and hazard free
• Transport patients to appointments and meetings in the community
• Perform patient drug testing

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

This job operates in both a transport vehicle and a residential treatment facility environment.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing transportation duties, this position will spend long periods sitting while operating the vehicle. While performing Recovery Health Technician duties, this position must be mobile throughout the facility, as well as work on a computer for periods.

This is a full-time or part-time status dependent on the position hired for in a 24/7 facility. Days and hours of work vary according to the assigned shift.

Significant local and distance travel is expected for this position when performing transportation duties.

Required Education, Experience or Eligibility Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent
