Job summary

Family Service of Rhode Island is seeking two part-time transportation positions in Providence, RI. The role provides transportation for children and families to and from the coaching visitation program and supports staff with activities and administrative tasks.

A valid license and insured vehicle are required. Two schedules are available: Tue–Fri 2:00–8:00 PM and Fri 2:00–6:00 PM for one position; and Mon–Thu 2:00–8:00 PM and Fri 2:00–6:00 PM for the other, with up to 50% travel.

Qualifications

• Prior experience transporting children and families is a plus.
• Desire to work with children and families.
• Able to work evenings and weekends.
• Clean driving record.
• Reliable transportation with at least three seats and valid license/insurance/registration.
• Bilingual/ASL skills add 6% above base pay.
• Multilingual skills add 8% above base pay.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

• Position 2: Monday–Friday | Mon–Thu 2:00–8:00 PM, Fri 2:00–6:00 PM

Qualifications

• Prior experience transporting children and families a plus.
• Desire to work with children and families.
• Able to work evening and weekend hours.
• Clean driving record.
• The position requires reliable transportation, valid drivers license, proof of automobile insurance, registration, inspection and driving record. In addition, the reliable transportation must have a minimum of three seats in addition to the drivers seat.
• Bilingual/ASL skills are compensated by an additional 6%, above base pay.
• Multilingual skills are compensated by an additional 8%, above base pay.

Physical Requirements

This position requires agency and community visits, employees in this position must have the ability to:

• Travel to and from community locations and agency sites, which could include using walkways, stairs and/or elevators.
• Ability to lift up to 20lbs.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
