Job summary

Family Service of Rhode Island (FSRI) is seeking a Home Visiting Specialist to support vulnerable families in Providence. The role follows the Healthy Families America (HFA) model and collaborates with families to improve parenting, child health outcomes, and family functioning.

You will help implement the HFA program, engage with community partners, and participate in group facilitation and outreach efforts while meeting RI Dept. of Health guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in human services or related field.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and families.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Bilingual abilities are preferred; ASL and multilingual skills add value.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality home visiting services to vulnerable families per HFA model.
  • Partner with families to strengthen parenting and child health outcomes.
  • Ensure fidelity to the HFA model and RI Dept. of Health guidelines.
  • Assist with facilitating groups, outreach events, and community partnerships.

Job Location: Thurbers Ave - Providence, RI 02905 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: 2 Year Degree Salary Range: $22.00 - $27.35 Hourly Travel Percentage: Road Warrior Job Shift: Day FSRI is always looking for candidates that want to make a positive impact on the community!

Position Summary

Provides high quality home visiting services to vulnerable families and often high risk families in accordance with Healthy Families America (HFA) model requirements. Partners with families to strengthen parent-child relationships, achieve positive child health outcomes, and improve family functioning. Ensures that model fidelity is maintained and carries out required activities as set forth by RI Dept. of Health contractual guidelines. Assists with facilitating groups, community outreach events, and developing relationships with community partners.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of Bachelors degree in Human Services, Child Development, Education or related field. Consideration given to candidate with Associates Degree with work experience.
  • Experience working with culturally diverse communities/families and demonstrated ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate.
  • Enjoys and functions appropriately with long-term, ongoing projects; doesnt need immediate feedback or results for personal validation.
  • Ability to provide services when families are available, which may include some weeknight or weekend hours.
  • Working knowledge of state and community resources, able to effectively impart this knowledge to families.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required,
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Current drivers license, registration and auto insurance.
  • Bilingual/ASL skills are compensated by an additional 6%, above base pay.
  • Multilingual skills are compensated by an additional 8%, above base pay.
Continuing Education Requirements
  • Attend additional required trainings as determined by FSRI, the RI Dept. of Health, and the HFA model.
Physical Requirements
  • Travel to and from clients residence, community locations and office sites, which could include using walkways, stairs and/or elevators.
  • Ability to lift up to 20lbs.
