Job summary

The Lincoln Center for Family and Youth (TLC) in Audubon, PA is seeking a Transportation Aide (Part-time) to support students during morning and school travel. This role involves assisting with boarding, monitoring behavior, and following safety plans while maintaining a calm environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating with drivers and school staff, and providing mobility or basic care as needed in alignment with individual plans.

Position summary

• Assisting the student with boarding, exiting, and safely transitioning to and from transportation
• Monitoring the student’s behavior and well-being during travel
• Following individualized safety and behavioral procedures
• Communicating effectively with the driver, school staff, and family as appropriate
• Maintaining a calm, structured environment.
• The Transportation Aide may also assist with mobility needs, personal care as assigned, securing adaptive equipment, and responding appropriately to behavioral or medical concerns in accordance with school policies and the student’s individualized plan

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to reach above and below the waist
• Ability to use fingers to pick, feel and grasp objects
• Ability to use both hands for repetitive motion
• Considerable bending and twisting of the body required
• Some stooping and squatting

SENSORY ABILITIES

• Visual acuity
• Auditory acuity

• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
• Must be able to work with students

Work Environment

• Morning pick up at client’s home and transport to local school building.
• 1-3 hours, M-F
