Job summary

The Lincoln Center for Family and Youth (TLC) is seeking a Transportation Aide (Part-time) to provide safe, supportive transportation for a high-needs student in a Special Education program, assisting with boarding, exiting, and transitions.

You will monitor the student’s behavior and well-being during travel, follow safety procedures, and communicate with the driver, school staff, and family as appropriate. Morning pickups, 1-3 hours, M-F.

Qualifications

Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
Must be able to work with students.
Must be cooperative, congenial, and service-oriented.
Must be able to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.

Responsibilities

Provides safe, supportive, and respectful transportation for a high-needs student in a Special Education program.
Assists with boarding, exiting, and safely transitioning to and from transportation.
Monitors the student’s behavior and well-being during travel.
Follows individualized safety and behavioral procedures.
Communicates effectively with the driver, school staff, and family as appropriate.
Maintains a calm, structured environment.
The Transportation Aide may assist with mobility needs, personal care, securing adaptive equipment, and responding to concerns per school policies and the student’s plan.
