Job summary

VCU Health in Richmond, VA seeks an experienced Respiratory Therapist to provide safe, effective care across neonate to geriatric populations. The role includes ventilation management, patient education, and documentation of plans of care within a dynamic hospital setting.

The position requires Virginia RT licensure, NBRC RRT eligibility, and preferred ACLS/PALS. Opportunities exist for shift leadership and continuing education within a comprehensive respiratory care program.

Qualifications

• Education, training and/or NBRC eligibility for RRT credentialing.
• Virginia licensure as a Respiratory Therapist required.
• NBRC registry with RRT (CRT acceptable for grandfathering).
• ACLS/PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to neonate through geriatric patients per guidelines.
• Serve as educator for patients, families, staff and students.
• May act as shift team leader in supervisor’s absence.
• Document assessments, therapies and plan of care.
• Perform diagnostic procedures and monitor ventilated patients.
• Participate in continuing education and quality initiatives.
