Description
Our client is seeking a skilled Transport Engineer to support their large Build Plans within their wireless team. This role involves initiatives such as CBAND Spectrum Upgrades, SNAP Equipment swaps, and New Builds. While a technical background in Circuit and Fiber Provisioning is important, the role also entails significant Project Management duties, including workflow standardization, data analysis, and ASR processing with TELCO Vendors across the footprint. Responsibilities include creating assignments, building pathways, and coordinating with internal and external teams to completion.
Job Duties:
This position requires extensive experience in transport engineering, strong project management skills, and problem-solving abilities. The engineer will develop monthly interconnect implementation plans supporting various build targets such as macro, in-building, small cell, self-perform/third-party, ODAS, SNAP, LS6, 5G, CRAN, VRAN, and MEC. The transport team manages creation, design, and issuance of CIQs, engineering new cells, trunks, circuit ordering, and carrier additions. Understanding carrier-specific telecom products like Native Ethernet, VZON, TLS, and Dark Fiber, along with IOF and OSP Provisioning, is essential.
The role involves managing multiple projects, evaluating solutions, and collaborating across engineering teams. Specific responsibilities include:
Skills: vendor management, ASR, TDM, Ethernet, Dark Fiber, equipment design, RFDS, circuit, transport, IPTV systems, circuit provisioning, wireless network, Samsung, Nokia, Alcatel-Lucent, ZING, Netcracker.
Additional Skills & Qualifications: Proficiency with Office applications and Google Sheets/Docs, database management, project tracking, troubleshooting, problem-solving, self-motivation, excellent communication, engineering principles, telecom industry experience, productivity management, decision-making, organizational skills.
Desired Skills: Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; experience with XNG/Granite, ASR systems, interconnect circuit types (TLS, EMUX, Dark Fiber, EOS), wireless 4G/5G architecture, project management, centralized RAN, wavelength division multiplexing, IPv4/IPv6, microwave backhaul technologies.
Experience Level: Engineer III (Experienced)
Pay and Benefits: $45.00 - $60.00/hr, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability, HSA, transportation, EAP, PTO, and more.
Workplace: Hybrid position in Annapolis Junction, MD.
