Job summary

Denton County is seeking a Deputy Sheriff to perform law enforcement and jail duties to protect lives, property, and rights of county residents. The role includes serving civil processes, patrolling in official vehicles, detaining violators, transporting prisoners, and assisting with court commitments.

Responsibilities may vary by assignment, and the employee may be exposed to hazards typical of law enforcement work. A fingerprint background check and CJIS/TCOLE clearance are required.

Qualifications

• High School graduation or GED.
• Possession of a valid driver's license; able to obtain Texas license within 90 days.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Jailer license within 180 days of appointment.
• Must pass fingerprint-based background check and meet CJIS/TCOLE requirements.
