Qualifications

• High School graduation or GED.
• Certificate as a Peace Officer in the state of Texas required.
• Possession of a valid driver's license. Must be able to obtain a State of Texas driver's license within 90 days.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Enforces all the laws of the state and applicable federal laws.
• Patrols county roadways and assists citizens in both emergency and non‑emergency situations.
• Responds to calls for service and reports back to station as needed.
• Performs traffic enforcement duties and DWI enforcement; may testify in court.
• Apprehends criminals and provides field training to other officers.
• Responds to animal control calls and investigates crime scenes; gathers evidence.
