Job summary

Cox Healthcare in Broken Arrow, OK is seeking a Transportation Driver to transport residents, staff, and others to scheduled events, while upholding safety and procedures.

You will coordinate rides with facility staff, assist residents in and out of vehicles using proper safety measures, operate lifts as needed, and maintain vehicle logs and routine maintenance checks. Qualifications

• Must have valid state driver’s license and insurance.
• Must be 25 years of age or older.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Transports residents, staff, volunteers to scheduled events.
• Coordinates transportation services with appropriate staff members.
• Assists residents in and out of the vehicle, using proper safety procedures.
• Operates mechanical lift as required for wheelchair bound patients.
• Follows written and verbal before leaving facility with residents.
• Obtains appropriate paperwork before leaving facility with resident.
• Assesses and corrects inappropriate resident appearance before leaving facility.
• Follows Resident’s Rights and facility safety protocol.
• Dresses professionally and represents the facility in a professional manner.
• Monitors and reports necessary mechanical maintenance to ensure safe vehicle operation.
• Inspects and maintains vehicle supplies and equipment to ensure proper working conditions.
• Maintains vehicle logs and destination records.
• Reports issues to Transportation Coordinator and Administrator.
• Complies with health care and safety standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Transportation Driver Essential Functions:

• Transports residents, staff, volunteers, and others to scheduled events.

• Inspects and maintains vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working conditions


• Maintains records such as vehicle logs and destinations are required


• Reports any issues or problem that may arise to the Transportation Coordinator and Administrator


• Compiles with state, federal and all other applicable health care and safety standards


• Performs other duties as assigned
