Job summary

Simpsonville Post Acute is seeking a Transportation Driver to safely transfer residents to appointments and activities. You will assist with loading/unloading, maintain vehicle cleanliness, and keep maintenance logs up to date. Must meet driving and safety requirements and be flexible with schedules. Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and be familiar with GPS navigation.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Pass a drug screen and background check successfully.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with loading and unloading from facility approved vehicles.
• Transport residents to medical appointments or approved activities.
• Maintain interior and exterior of facility vehicles for safe transport and community image.
• Monitor vehicle maintenance logs and arrange vehicle servicing as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Your day to day as a transportation driver:

• Assists residents with loading and unloading from facility approved vehicles.
• Ensures the safe transportation of residents to scheduled medical appointments or other approved activities, resident outings, etc.
• Maintains the interior and exterior of facility vehicles to promote safe and comfortable transport for the residents and to project a positive image in the community
• Monitors vehicle maintenance logs and delivers vehicle for regularly scheduled maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, etc.
• All other duties as assigned

An ideal transportation driver:

• Must be 25 years of age or older
• Must have a valid DL and be familiar with GPS and local driving area.
• Pass a drug screen and background check successfully, including driving record
• CPR and First Aide Certified
• Be flexible with work time (in the event a resident appointment or activity runs late)
• Must have training and be able to demonstrate safe clinical based transfer techniques for: Ingress/Egress of Mobile Patients with Van, Transfer of patients into and out of Wheelchair, Properly securing WC bound residents into bays in Vans
• Must be able to lift, transfer and mobilize patient weights of up to 75 pounds by self in confined areas inside Van.
• Must be able to make complex decisions involving highly dependent patient base.
