Job summary

The University of California Los Angeles Health seeks a Supervising Transplant and VAD Coordinator to lead daily operations, assure safety and quality, and coordinate care across teams.

Reporting to the Transplant Nurse Manager, you will mentor coordinators, ensure regulatory compliance (UNOS, CMS, OPTN), and drive program growth while maintaining compassionate, patient‑centered care from referral through follow‑up. This role requires advanced transplant knowledge and strong communication.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited nursing program.
• MSN from an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum 2 years related experience or training.
• 5 years RN experience with critical care and transplant coordination.
• California RN license.
• BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross).
• CCTC certification within 1 year of hire.
• Ability to manage all transplant patient care stages.
• Strong communication across diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily workflows for transplant and VAD coordinators.
• Ensure regulatory compliance (UNOS, CMS, OPTN).
• Manage staffing and schedules for the team.
• Mentor and evaluate coordinators.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and data collection.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary communication across departments.
• Develop clinical protocols, policies, and education materials.
• Lead donor/recipient coordination and liaison with external agencies.
