Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine in Chicago’s Hyde Park campus invites a Staff Nurse to join the 3W Transplant unit. This is a 0.6 FTE, part-time, 7pm–7:30am, 100% onsite position serving the greater Chicagoland area.

The ideal candidate is a registered nurse with an NLN-accredited nursing program, an Illinois RN license, and current BLS certification, prepared to work in a high-acuity transplant setting and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing
• ADN nurses must enroll in BSN within 6–9 months and complete BSN within 30 months with tuition reimbursement
• Current Illinois RN license
• Active BLS certification from AHA

Responsibilities

• Utilizes appropriate assessment skills to determine patient needs
• Develops a plan of care for patients whose needs do not require Case Manager involvement or collaborates with Case Manager
• Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned
• Provides support to peers and works as a team member
• Attends continuing education programs and participates in program evaluation
