Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking a Clinical Staff Pharmacist II to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care in acute care settings within the UCSF Health System. The role emphasizes medication history gathering, patient education, and collaboration with physicians to optimize therapy.

The pharmacist will work with an interprofessional team to ensure safe and effective drug use, supervise technicians when needed, and contribute to care across inpatient units.

Qualifications

• PharmD or equivalent degree required.
• Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency or at least 3 years of inpatient/acute care services pharmacy experience.
• Advanced practice board certification (e.g., BPS, AAHIVP) preferred.
• Current license to practice pharmacy in California in good standing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide pharmaceutical care to patients across acute care pharmacy locations.
• Obtain medication histories and review medication profiles.
• Educate patients on proper medication use and potential adverse effects.
• Collaborate with clinicians on drug choices and therapeutic plans.
• Oversee pharmacy technicians and support staff as needed.
