Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a qualified RN to join Lifesharing as an Organ Procurement Coordinator. The role focuses on donor evaluation, guiding families through donation decisions, and coordinating care to ensure viable transplant organs.

You will collaborate with ICU staff, physicians, and transplant teams across San Diego and Imperial Counties. The position requires a California RN license, BART/BLS within six months, and at least two years in organ procurement/recovery.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• RN License issued by the State of California.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six months.
• Two years of recent organ procurement/recovery experience.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site evaluation of potential organ and tissue donors.
• Guide families through the decision to donate organs.
• Manage donor care to ensure organ viability.
• Locate recipients for each transplantable organ and assist in organ recovery.
• Liaise with hospital personnel, ICU staff, and physicians to educate and facilitate donation.
