Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a per-diem RN to support pre- and post-transplant care under the supervision of the attending physician and NP. You will be a key member of the multidisciplinary transplant team, providing clinical assistance and coordinating with patients, families, and other care providers.

The role requires California RN licensure, BLS/CPR, and at least three years of direct patient care in acute or ambulatory settings, with experience in solid organ transplant care.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• RN License issued by the State of California.
• BLS/CPR certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Must have a minimum of three (3) years of recent (within past 3 years) face to face patient care in an acute or ambulatory setting.
• Experience caring for solid organ transplant patients on a nursing floor or outpatient unit that specializes in caring for this patient population.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assistance and support in treating and managing pre and post-transplant care.
• Act as key member of the multidisciplinary transplant teams.
• Consult and liaison for patients and their families with attending physicians, house staff, social workers, financial and administrative staff, and community physicians.
• Collaborate with attending physicians on admissions, discharges and outpatient care.
