UC San Diego Health is seeking a highly motivated Registered Nurse to fill a pivotal procurement coordinator role in the Transplant Community. You will work across hospitals in San Diego and Imperial Counties to assess donors, guide families, and ensure donor organ viability in collaboration with transplant teams.

The role requires California RN licensure, BART/BLS, and 2+ years in organ procurement. Strong communication, empathy, and critical thinking are essential as you coordinate with ICU

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• RN license issued by the State of California.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Two (2) years of recent organ procurement/recovery experience.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities.
• Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and consistently demonstrate empathy and kindness to all staff and patients.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and clinical skills to identify and implement nursing interventions and evaluate results.
• Must have excellent skills to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and external constituents, both verbally and in writing.

Responsabilités

• Provide on-site evaluation of potential organ and tissue donors, help guide families through the decision to donate.
• Manage the clinical care of the donor to assure organ viability and locate recipients for each transplantable organ.
• Assist in recovery of organs and coordinate with ICU staff, physicians, and transplant teams.
• Develop relationships and provide educational programs to facilitate the organ donation process.
