UC San Diego Health is seeking a highly motivated Registered Nurse to fill a critical procurement coordinator role across San Diego and Imperial Counties. You will evaluate potential organ and tissue donors on site, guide families through donation decisions, and coordinate clinical care to ensure organ viability for transplant.

The ideal candidate has a California RN license, two years of organ procurement experience, and strong communication and problem-solving skills to work with donor

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• RN License issued by the State of California.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Two (2) years of recent organ procurement/recovery experience.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities, and to quickly assess moderately-complex problems to develop potential solutions.
• Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and consistently demonstrate empathy and kindness to all staff and patients.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and clinical skills to identify and implement nursing interventions and evaluate results.
• Must have excellent skills to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and external constituents, both verbally and in writing.

Responsabilités

• On-site evaluation of potential organ and tissue donors.
• Help guide families through the decision to donate the organs of their recently deceased loved ones.
• Manage the clinical care of the donor to assure the viability of the organs.
• Locate recipients for each transplantable organ.
• Assist in the recovery of the organs.
