Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Transplant Nurse Educator to lead formal and informal staff education within the Transplant Program. A Registered Nurse with a BSN and strong clinical experience will coordinate orientation, develop training, and maintain competency in transplant care while supporting patient safety.

The role emphasizes evidence-based education, collaboration with nursing leadership, and participation in program development and policy guidance while remaining clinically

Qualifications

• Current license as a Registered Nurse State of Illinois or eligible in Illinois.
• Certification in applicable specialty.
• Coordination or related specialty (e.g. CNN).
• BSN with a minimum of four years related clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Integrates theoretical knowledge and clinical expertise in nursing education for staff.
• Serves as a role model for a Patients First philosophy.
• Facilitates formal and informal staff education for nurses, coordinators, social workers, and dieticians.
• Coordinates orientation with NM Academy, peers, managers, medical faculty, andProfessional Development.
• Develops and evaluates initial orientation and training programs to establish competencies.
• Maintains standards of practice relevant to the transplant program and collaborates on staff development.
