Job summary

Memorial Hermann is seeking a Transplant Financial Coordinator to support the transplant team and families with the financial aspects of transplant. You will manage insurance information, obtain authorizations, and communicate coverage statuses across the care team through the transplant cycle and post-transplant care.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and knowledge of major health plans, Medicare/Medicaid, and hospital billing practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college degree and/or TFC certification preferred.
• TFC certification preferred.
• Experience in insurance/revenue cycle for transplant is required or training.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify detailed patient/donor insurance benefit information for transplant processes.
• Obtain insurance authorizations for transplant-related services and update clinical team on status.
• Participate in medical review board presentations and multidisciplinary rounds.
• Communicate clearance status and coverage issues to transplant team and patient care staff.
• Re-verify insurance coverage regularly and update payer registration.
• Collaborate with patients and team to address insurance coverage gaps and explore funding options.
