Job summary

Sentara Health in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Transplant Authorization Financial Coordinator for a full-time day shift. This role serves as a link between patients, hospitals, physicians and insurers to determine financial eligibility, verify benefits, and estimate costs of services.

You will counsel patients, coordinate referrals from PCPs, monitor admissions, and act as a resource for bills and claims. The ideal candidate has 5 years related experience in health insurance billing or registration,

• Related experience includes health insurance plans, Medipac, or registration/billing.

• High School Grad or Equivalent
• Required: Related - 5 years
• Related experience includes 5 years working with Health Insurance Plans OR Medipac OR Registration/Billing OR a combination of the three. Medical Terminology required. Associates degree preferred

Position Overview

Provides a direct link between the patients, hospitals, primary care physicians and insurance providers. Determines financial eligibility, verifies insurance and benefits, provides counseling, resources and education, coordinates referrals from PCP’s and monitors admissions. Serves as a resource for patients, families and physician office staff for bills, claims and estimated cost of services.
