Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp. in West Virginia seeks an Engineer IV to lead civil design and inspection work on transmission projects, coordinating with operating company and corporate teams. You will evaluate mining impacts, blasting designs, and site safety while mentoring Rotational Engineers and Co-Ops.

You should have a BS in Civil or Mining Engineering (ABET) and a PE license or equivalent, plus 5+ years of engineering experience. Travel to various company locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Mining Engineering (ABET) is required or PE license.
• FE Certificate preferred.
• Mining experience and blasting experience preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years engineering experience.
• Knowledge of electric transmission systems and NESC/NERC is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with cost tracking and schedule.

Responsibilities

• Designs of civil aspects related to transmission line infrastructure.
• Lead and/or support transmission tower foundation inspections and restorations.
• Present projects for management funding and approval.
• Coordinate with internal and external sources for project meetings.
• Perform field reviews to identify project work scope and interact with design and field personnel.
