Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking a transmission line engineer to develop and maintain safe designs for transmission line projects, including wood and steel structures, wire sag charts, and alignment plans. You will direct survey teams, provide engineering support, and coordinate with Siting, Permitting, Project Management, Maintenance, and Regulatory groups.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BSEE/BSCE/BSME degree required.
• Minimum two years Engineering experience.
• PE license or ABET degree plus advanced degree acceptable.
• Civil Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a safe environment for the transmission line network.
• Create engineering designs and standards for transmission line projects.
• Direct survey crews and drafting personnel for data collection.
• Support work crews during construction and field visits.
• Coordinate designs with Siting, Permitting, Project Management, Maintenance, and others.
