Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a Station Engineer/Engineering Technologist Associate or SG7 to support Transmission System Operations Engineering. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with NERC and industry standards, reviewing outages, drawings, and performing root-cause analyses for system improvements.

On-site in Ohio/Virginia, with an emphasis on leadership, teamwork and effective communication to drive safe, reliable and economic grid operations.

Qualifications

• Entry-level to mid-career engineering roles within TSOE.
• ABET-accredited degree required; FE exam encouraged for licensing.
• Strong planning, analysis and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for commissioning and verification of work on the transmission grid.
• Review outages for configuration changes.
• Review drawings to ensure as-built vs system condition alignment.
• Perform root cause analysis to drive process improvements.
