Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp is seeking a Project Development Engineer to own and manage projects through the development phase, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to scope, schedule, and budget. You will update schedules, control costs, and coordinate with Sponsors and teams to drive successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities include developing execution plans, providing resource estimates, and maintaining change documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• FE certificate preferred; PE license or ABET-certified engineering tech degree acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Review technical project documents to develop schedules, forecasts, and scope.
• Evaluate project scope with internal/external teams to mitigate risks in scope, schedule, and budget.
• Develop project execution plans and deliverables with Sponsors and Stakeholders.
• Provide resource levels and durations for project schedules.
• Review project estimates for adequacy and completeness.
• Maintain project costs within approvals and seek capital expenditure authorizations as needed.
• Ensure change management and complete documentation of scope/schedule/forecast changes.
• Provide project status updates and support emergent requests.
• Coordinate schedules to request system outages with operations and PJM timelines.
• Support Portfolio Management in multiyear portfolio development.
• Communicate status to Sponsors and Stakeholders; participate in lessons learned audits.
