Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp is seeking a Project Development Engineer to own, manage, and control projects through the development phase, ensuring schedules and costs align with portfolio management.

The role requires a BS in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering (ABET) with 3+ years of engineering experience and strong project management, time management, and communication skills. Travel to project locations is expected, with Primavera/MS Project experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering (ABET) is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of Engineering experience; strong project management and time management skills.
• Experience with Primavera or MS Project is a plus.
• Willing to travel to assigned project locations.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze technical project documents to develop a strategic project schedule and scope.
• Evaluating project scope with internal and external teams to document and mitigate risks.
• Developing the project execution plan and key deliverables.
• Provide projected contractor resource levels and project durations.
• Reviewing project estimates for adequacy and completeness.
• Ensure costs stay within leadership approval levels and seek capital expenditure authorizations when required.
• Communicating project status to sponsors and stakeholders.
