Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) is seeking a Transmission Planning Engineer for the Expansion Planning Team in Minnesota. You will collaborate with MISO members and industry stakeholders to develop transmission solutions for the MTEP, perform planning studies, and provide technical support across planning initiatives.
Responsibilities include analyses (steady‑state, transient, voltage stability), project reviews for NERC TPL‑001‑4/5 compliance, and mentoring teammates as needed.
Transmission Planning Engineer – Expansion Planning Team.
As a Transmission Planning Engineer on our Expansion Planning team, you will collaborate with MISO members and industry stakeholders to develop transmission solutions that become part of the MISO Transmission Expansion Plan (MTEP). You will perform a variety of planning studies and reliability assessments—steady‑state, transient, and voltage stability analysis—as well as project reviews, compliance assessments, and technical support for a variety of planning initiatives.
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
