Midcontinent Independent System Operator Inc. is seeking a Transmission Planning Engineer to join the Expansion Planning team.
You will perform transmission planning studies and reliability assessments, supporting MTEP and ensuring grid reliability as energy landscapes evolve. You will collaborate with MISO members, industry stakeholders, and internal teams, mentor teammates, and contribute to planning initiatives across departments.
As a Transmission Planning Engineer on our Expansion Planning team, you'll work alongside MISO members and industry stakeholders to develop transmission solutions that become part of the MISO Transmission Expansion Plan (MTEP) — one of the industry's most important long-term planning efforts.
In this role, you'll perform a variety of transmission planning studies and reliability assessments that help ensure the grid remains reliable as the energy landscape continues to evolve. Your work will include steady-state, transient, and voltage stability analysis, project reviews, compliance assessments, and technical support for a variety of planning initiatives.
Beyond the technical work, you'll have opportunities to improve planning processes, collaborate across multiple departments, mentor teammates, and help solve some of the industry's most complex transmission planning challenges.
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $71,000-$96,000 USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience.
