Job summary

Pike Corporation in Alabama is seeking an entry-level Class C Lineman to build and repair electric transmission lines. You will work on energized and de-energized systems, travel to various job sites and report to the Foreman.

This role requires safety-first lifting, climbing structures, and operating transmission-line equipment. You will support outages and emergencies, including on-call rotations, and must be able to work long hours in diverse weather.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of recent transmission line experience.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work for extended periods at different job locations, including out of state assignments.
• Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair energized and de-energized transmission systems while putting safety first.
• Help install and repair overhead transmission lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
• Knowledge of switching and tagging procedures, EPZ-grounding and induced voltage on de-energized lines.
• Climb different structures (wood, steel, concrete) using approved climbing methods and equipment.
• Work at heights and near energized equipment.
• Proficient in heavy lifting and rigging.
• Operate bucket trucks, digger derricks, tensioners and pullers and other transmission line equipment.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and storms.
• Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on-call rotation.
• Follow safety protocols including PPE use and understanding insulated protective equipment.
