Job summary

NV5, Inc. is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer III to support our overhead electric transmission practice in Southern California. You will work on routing, design, and execution of high voltage overhead projects from 60kV to 500kV, collaborating with a team across offices in San Diego, Los Angeles, and Irvine.

The role combines design, QA/QC, and field support with opportunities to mentor junior staff. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of overhead transmission experience, a CA PE license,

Qualifications

5–10 years of progressive overhead transmission engineering experience.
ABET-accredited BS in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
PE license in California; MS degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Routing and design of high voltage transmission lines (60kV to 500kV).
QA/QC of PLS-CADD models and job packages before submittals.
Structure and foundation design; develop design criteria and specifications.
Procurement of materials; cost estimating; quality control reviews.
Construction support and interaction with field crews.
Prepare drawings and documentation for construction; provide staff guidance.
