Job summary

NV5 is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer III in Southern California for routing, design, and execution of high voltage overhead transmission projects from 60kV to 500kV. The role supports our OH Electric Transmission practice and involves QA/QC, structure/foundation design, and construction support.

The position is hybrid based in one of our SoCal offices. Candidates should have 5–10 years of overhead transmission experience, a CA PE license, and proficiency with Power Line Systems software

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Eng from ABET-accredited program.
• PE license in California.
• 5–10 years of overhead transmission engineering experience.
• Experience with 12kV–500kV line design and PLS software.
• MS degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Routing and design of transmission lines using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and TOWER.
• QA/QC of PLS-CADD models and job packages before submittals.
• Structure analysis and foundation design, cost estimating, and procurement support.
