Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join our North Division, supporting projects across New York, New Jersey, and New England. The role targets experienced engineers to tackle complex technical challenges within a collaborative team.

You will design and analyze overhead and underground lines from 69kV to 500kV, ensuring quality and compliance with industry standards while contributing to proposals and client engagements.

Qualifications

• PE license required; multi-state licensure a plus.
• 5–10 years of transmission line engineering experience with a delivery track record.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, SAG10 and LPILE.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design and analysis of transmission line systems (69kV–500kV).
• Apply NESC, ASCE and utility-specific standards for compliance.
• Support project delivery from concept through construction, including estimating and scheduling.
• Conduct design reviews for accuracy, constructability, and client alignment.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other specialists.
• Contribute to proposal development and client engagement.
• Participate in knowledge sharing and technical development.
