Job summary

United Grid Solutions is seeking a transmission line engineer to provide design, engineering, and oversight for projects including renewables interconnections and grid modernization. The role entails leading discipline work, managing schedules and budgets, and supporting proposals.

Requirements include an ABET-accredited engineering degree, 1–3 years in electrical transmission, and knowledge of line components, drawing packages, and applicable codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil / Structural or Electrical Engineering.
• 2+ years of electrical utility Transmission Line design experience (69kV+)
• Knowledge of transmission line components, foundations, grounding, sag and tension, and materials.
• Ability to deliver complete design package (drawings, BOM, construction specs) within budget and on time.
• Knowlege of NESC, ASCE, ACI, and IEEE.
• Mentor designers/drafters; collaborate with design disciplines and clients.
• Site visits to advise on engineering issues during construction.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering guidance for problem identification, analysis, and resolution.
• Plan, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities.
• Prepare thorough technical reports, correspondence, calculations, and sketches.
• Pursue continuous improvement of engineering knowledge and performance.
• Create transmission line drawing packages and communicate with clients.
