Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a seasoned Transmission Line Supervisor to oversee field line work for construction, maintenance and operation of transmission lines and stations. You will plan and schedule activities, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate with outage requests while leading crews in alignment with our leadership framework.

This role requires strong leadership, project coordination skills, and at least 5 years of relevant experience in line construction or maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must have sufficient knowledge and skill to perform the duties listed above.
• Experience in line construction and maintenance activities gained through experience such as Transmission Line Mechanic A; typically 5 years.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise line crews in construction, maintenance and operation of transmission lines ensuring safe work practices.
• Assure proper and safe use of tools and equipment, and safety, welfare and training of personnel.
• Procure materials, tools and equipment as required.
• Comply with company practices, policies and standards for transmission line work.
• Maintain good relations with employees and safety to the public regarding Company facilities.
