Qualifications

• Entry-level candidates with a 2-year technical degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field, or high school with 2 years operating power systems experience.
• 1-2 years of experience in substation operation, protective relaying, or distribution dispatching is desirable.
• Valid state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in data-driven next steps around Asset Health Alarms for downstream stakeholders.
• Monitor system health alarms and provide guidance to stakeholders.
• Support real-time compliance with PRC002, PRC004, and TPL007.
• Monitor real-time fire monitoring applications and advise on next steps.
• Handle other advanced applications and alert stakeholders when thresholds are reached.
• Assist in regulating system voltage levels and real/reactive power flows with the AEP SCC.
• Aid in real-time operation of the transmission system with AEP SCC and neighboring utilities.
• Prepare switching orders and safety tagging for removal/restoration during maintenance.
• Direct switching operations under emergency conditions to restore service quickly.
