Job summary

WSP USA offers a Summer Internship in Transmission Engineering to work with our Power and Energy Team at the Indian Land, SC office. This full-time internship is for students enrolled in Civil or Mechanical Engineering programs, starting with a 12-week schedule beginning May 17, 2027, with some flexibility on start date.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil and Mechanical Engineering undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Civil and Mechanical Engineering and desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership and mentors to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, and tools.
• Authorization to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Civil and Mechanical Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct.
